ORIENTATION IN U.S. BUSINESS LAW
COURSE MATERIALS
The primary textbook provided for the course is usually William Burnham’s Introduction to the Law and Legal System of the United States (West Publishing, 4th edition, 2006). Prof. Burnham is a law school professor and participating faculty member in the Institute's programs. The book is a comprehensive textbook, currently in its fourth edition. The book was written specifically for law students and lawyers from outside the United States. Professor Burnham has traveled and taught extensively at leading universities in several countries, including Russia, The Netherlands and Italy, and is a member of the Institute's summer faculty.
